    13th Annual National Gathering of Tribal Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals 

and Tradeshow - July 16-18, 2008 

Mystic Lake Casino Hotel

Prior Lake, Minnesota

     This year's 13th Annual National Gathering of Tribal Drinking Water and Wastewater professionals has scheduled to be held at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota on July 16-18, 2008.  Hotel reservations can be made by calling the hotel directly at (800-262-7799) or (952-445-9000). The group rate, government rate, Single/Double: $99 per night, plus applicable taxes. Group code: NAWA  Event.      The Gathering will offer a broad variety of Tribal water and wastewater tribal utility speakers, water and wastewater industry sponsors and exhibitors, guest speakers and more.

     The 13th NAWA Annual National Gathering of Tribal Water and Wastewater professionals registration fees are $400.00 per-person. Tradeshow exhibitor fees are $500.00 per exhibitor/Vendor space and one attendant. A fee of $200.00 for each additional attendant of the booth.

7:30 am-9:00 am Gathering Registration - Grand Ballroom

All attendees report to the registration desk at this time for name badges and materials.

8:00 am-8:45 an Morning Coffee & Teas

Will be provided in the Exhibitor and Vendor area.

8:45 am Welcoming and Opening Prayer - Mr. Thomas Crawford President and Founder of the Native American Water Association, Minden, Nevada and 

Mr. Glynn Crooks, Vice Chairman, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

All attendees are to meet in the Grand Ballroom for opening prayer. and welcoming remarks

All Day Exhibitors Tradeshow,  Grand Ballroom

All attendees, meet and talk with Tradeshow representatives, find out what's new and exciting in our profession. 

9:15 am-10:15 am    Mr. Ron Quade, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mr. Kelly Yahnke, Bolton & Menk, Inc.  - Grand Ballroom

Will be presenting an overview of the Drinking Water and Wastewater programs and project that have been completed and the future activities of the Shakopee. Question and answers throughout this presentation.

11:00 am-12:00 pm     Dr. Gerald Iwan, Director,   WVU - National Environmental Services Center,  Morgantown, West Virginia - Grand Ballroom

                           Dr. Iwan will be presenting information regarding the resources that the NESC provides. Questions and answer period following the presentation.

2:00 pm-3:00 pm     Mr. Kevin Martin, PE, Houston Engineering, Inc. Bismarck, North Dakota - Grand Ballroom

Mr. Martin will be presenting an overview on a project:  Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Water System Master Plan - A Case Study.

3:00 pm-3:30 pm      Afternoon Break and Prize Drawings

3:30 pm-4:30 pm      Mr. Joseph Mark Chavarria, Director, Santa Clara Pueblo, Office of Environmental Affairs, Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico - Grand Ballroom

           Mr. Chavarria will be presenting a overview of their tribes Environmental Affairs program and the Tribal drinking water program.  Q&A period throughout.

                    Mr. Grant and Mr. Gravatt will be presenting a program on Potable Water Tanks and Prefabricated Water Booster Pumping Stations.  

6:00 pm-7:30 pm      Gathering Dinner Buffet – Main Gathering Area

Come and join us for a wonderful dinner buffet, meet with new and visit with old friends. All attendees and exhibitors/vendors welcome.

9:00 am-10:00 am    Mr. Thomas Gobin, Manager, Tulalip Tribes, Quil Ceda Village, Marysville, Washington - Grand Ballroom 

                           Will be presenting an overview on his water and wastewater plants, salmon and aquatic life studies for the Tulalip Tribe - Questions and Answer period during this presentation.

11:00 am-12:00 pm      Mr. John C. Taylor, Underground Injection Control Program, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, Chicago, Illinois - Grand Ballroom

Will be presenting and overview and update of the Underground Injection Control Program.  Question and answer period during presentation.

12:00 pm-1:30 pm  Lunch Buffet – Main Gathering Room area

1:45 pm-2:45 pm    Mr. Gene Laducer, Tribal Water Planner,  Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians - Grand Ballroom

Mr. Laducer will be presenting an overview of the projects and programs the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians are currently involved in.  Question and answer period.

3:30 pm-4:30 pm    Ms. Leslie J. Isham, Assistant Manager, Lac Courte Oreilles, Public Works Department, Hayward, Wisconsin - Grand Ballroom

                   Will present a overview of their tribes Tribal Drinking Water and Wastewater Program activities..

1:30 pm-4:30 pm        Mr. Tom Crawford,  Native American Water Association -  Certification Testing -  Breakout Room

                         Mr. Crawford will be administering examinations for water and wastewater operators ( pre-registration required)

Tribal water and wastewater systems question and answer period. Conducting a presentation regarding drinking water and wastewater programs training needs and how they can get this training, obtain funds to upgrade their staffs. Question and answers throughout this presentation.
